Andrea Castrovinci Cercatore

Professor, Head of Polymer Engineering Laboratory

K-words: flame retardancy, polymer degradation and stabilization, polymer composite, conductive, nanocoating, functional coating

Early stages of my career had taken place at Polytechnic of Torino as researcher, bringing R&D findings towards practical applications.
My main activities were related to the study of flame retardancy of polymeric materials. Moved to the University of Applied Science of Southern Switzerland allowed me fully exploiting my interests in applied R&D where a stimulating teaching environment, where theory and applications, are driven by industrial needs and marked ambition.
Working so closely with our industrial partners brought me in the Board of Directors of a polymer compounding company (www.sipsa.ch) since 2015. Nowadays my professional experience in the filed of applied R&D encompasses dozens of projects. All through my career I have engaged in fund raising via direct mandate or exploiting the plethora of public funding available ad national and international level.
