MCube (Mechatronics, Modelling, Mobility) is a research group affiliated to Moving Lab (Mobility and Vehicle Innovation Group) of DIEF (Dept.of Industrial Engineering) at the at the University of Florence.
MCube offers competences related to Mechatronics, Modelling of Mechanical systems and Mobility.
MCube has historically gathered a recognized experience related to Simulation and Testing including HIL & SIL testing (Hardware & Software In the Loop) with a particular focus on railway applications, electrical/hybrid mobility, dynamical modelling and control of vehicles and autonomous systems.
MCube is currently involved in research spanning the following areas:
- Design Simulation and Control of Electric, Hybrid and Multi-Modal Transportation Systems
- Simulation Design and Testing:Electromechanical and Fluidic Systems including Railway Brakes
- Creation of Advanced Digital Twins of Complex Mechanical and Mechatronics Systems with a particular focus on vehicle dynamics and control
