- Director of Kyiv Institute of Railway Transport: Volodymyr Tverdomed (Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor)
- Dean of the Faculty of Railway Operation: Oleh Strelko
- Acting Dean of Infrastructure and Rolling Stock: Oleksandr Horobchenko
- International Research Conferences: KIRT organizes the International Scientific and Practical Conference on Modern Research: Transport Infrastructure and Innovative Technologies. Recent proceedings feature student and faculty papers covering advanced topics like the 3D finite-element modeling of diesel locomotive bogie frames and the life-cycle analysis of railway rolling stock.
- 3D Engineering & Modeling: Researchers and students are actively utilizing software complexes (such as SolidWorks) to create finite-element models of bogie frames and load-bearing structures to study traction rolling stock operational capabilities.
- Academic & Rail Training Expansion: Alongside SUIT, the institute is broadening transportation management curricula. Coursework focuses heavily on multimodal freight transportation, international cargo logistics, and transport systems in conditions of risks and crises.
- Student Olympiads: The institute actively holds and participates in distance-learning All-Ukrainian student competitions, challenging its higher education applicants in subjects like computer science and railway infrastructure planning.
